Pets identification, besides being a legal obligation, is a procedure that protects the health and safety of dogs, cats and all animals implanted with microchips.
If the animal identified with microchips is lost or stolen, it can easily be traced through the databases in which that animal is registered.
In addition, the identification system is a deterrent for people wishing to get rid of their pet.
The microchip code
The first three digits are associated with the manufacturer, the remaining digits are “random”.
Where to implant the microchip
According to European law, the microchip must be implanted under the skin on the right side of the neck.
Microchip
The ISO microchip, also called transponders, consists of a biocompatible glass capsule injection. It contains a chip which carries a 15-digit code.
The microchip when is not operating is completely inactive and does not transmit any type of wave.
The outer surface of the capsule is treated with microgroove to facilitate the under skin implantation and to prevent migration.
The external dimension of the microchip is about 11 millimetre height and 2 millimetre of diameter, and is embodied in a disposable needle, which can be applied to a syringe or other primer that must be sterile in order to comply with basic standards of hygiene.
The microchip once implanted will remain with then dog for the rest of its life.
